My journey to a whole new me!

New Eating Habits May 26, 2010

Its strange to deal with the new eating habits that I have to follow.  Eating 6 small meals a day feels like I am constantly eating.  But not really.  I have to get 48-64 oz of water in too.  Its hard to do that when you can’t drink during meals, or thirty minutes before or after a meal.

I eat barely 1/4- 1/2 cup of food at a time.  I need to eat at least 60 grams of protein a day.  That’s kinda hard when you only eat a little bit of food at a time.  Though I have found that cottage cheese has loads more protein in it than I thought, and tuna is a good one for me to eat as well.

So here’s the really strange thing.  I have to learn to take smaller bites.  My tool to help me? My son’s baby spoon.  That’s right folks.  I use a baby spoon.  It has helped too.  I have to do smaller bites, and eat my meal within 20-30 minutes. I can’t eat fast though.  Now that is something totally foreign to me.  Growing up with so many older brothers it was eat fast or you don’t eat.  (Cause no food left on the table)

I’m working on it all.  Learning.  And seriously losing weight.

  2. sounds great lady! I’ve been trying to figure out how to get more protein in Anna’s diet so I’ll have to chat with you about your food list :) I eat with her spoon sometimes too!

If she likes yogurt, Kroger has carbmaster (Kroger brand) yogurt and it has 12grams of protein in it a serving along with very little sugar. It really is quite good too.
